Abstract

Kasturi Orange Leaves (Citrus microcarpa Bunge) including Family Rutaceae, Orang kasturi (Citrus microcarpa Bunge) are commonly called squeezed oranges with their small fruit shape. Some research results show in oranges kasturi have substances that can function for the field of health and food, can also provide useful benefits for the pharmaceutical drug industry, and cosmetics. The purpose of this study was to find out the antioxidant activity of kasturi orange leaf ethanol extract and to find out the group of compounds in kasturi orange leaves and also the value of IC50. The extract is obtained by maceration using a 96% ethanol solvent. Kasturi orange leaf ethanol extract is tested using the DPPH (1,1-Diphenyl-2-Picrylhydrazil) method, and uses UV-Visible spectrophotometry to determine its wavelength. Phytochemical screening results that powder simplisia kasturi orange leaves contain a group of alkaloid compounds, flavonoids, saponins, triterpenoids, and tannins. The results of antioxidant asset testing in dampening DPPH free radicals showed that orange casstury leaf ethanol extract has moderate category antioxidant activity where ethanol extract of kasturi orange leaves has an IC50 value of 131.29 ppm. The results of antioxidant activation testing in dampening DPPH free radicals showed that the ethanol extract of kasturi orange leaves had moderate category antioxidant activity.
